The ITIA says that players may be selected for doping tests before Davis Cup matches

ITIA explained that, unlike in individual competitions, in Davis Cup players can be notified of doping control before matches.

“In team competitions, including the Davis Cup, players may be notified that they have been selected for control prior to matches. Samples may be provided when they are ready.

From the moment of notification until the time of sample collection, players are supervised by a member of the anti-doping team” – HATEquoted by France24.

Novak Djokovic and the rejected anti-doping test: “In 20 years of my career this has never happened”

After the match with Norrie, Djokovic explained why the Serbian team refused to take an anti-doping test. The leader of the ATP responded harshly to the agents.

“I haven’t had a full doping control yet, they haven’t taken a blood sample yet. A gentleman sat in a corner and watched me for hours. I talked to him because in 20 years of my career this has never happened to me, I have never suffered.

I received a notification an hour and a half before the game. I have my routine and I don’t need to be distracted. To think about the blood collection, to think if I could give a urine sample… A completely irrational decision.

When I spoke to the representative of the anti-doping agency, they told me that the reason was that it was too late after the match and also to give the rest of the national team time to rest, but then I told them that the winner of the duel tonight. he won’t play tomorrow

I always support testing, but the game is not new. What will it change? I’ll be there when the match is over, try me later. The blood test is coming soon. I hope they change this ritual. It is interesting that the anti-doping agency is a private company. There should be a discussion, as a global organization, within our ecosystem, so to speak, to have our own agency.

I don’t know what to add, everything I say might be interpreted differently. This is outrageous. There is nothing to hide, but there are also some limitations. They do not understand what is happening here. I don’t understand the sport, I don’t understand where it is” – Novak Djokovicaccording to Eurosport.
